Remy

Remy is a stunning 9-year-old Alaskan Husky (Sprintline) who still has the heart (and teeth!) of a much younger dog. Our vet recently said her teeth look like those of a 7-year-old, and she just got a clean bill of health with all her vaccines updated for 2025. She’s also microchipped for safety.

I rescued her before I met my husband, and this coming January will mark nine years together. I’m her second owner, and this is an incredibly difficult decision — but it’s the right one to give her the life she deserves.

She’s loving, loyal, and wonderful with children — she adores being around kids and has never shown anything but gentleness. Indoors, she’s surprisingly calm for a husky: she doesn’t chew furniture, settles easily, and is content with her toys and chews. Outdoors, she lights up when she has room to run and would thrive with an owner who enjoys jogging, hiking, or has a big yard.

One of her unique quirks is her amazing vocabulary. She understands dozens of commands like sit, lay down, get in, go poo, kisses, treat, paw-paw, outside, and even fun phrases like don’t look at me and choo-choo. She’s as smart as she is beautiful, and she’ll make you smile daily with her personality.

She does have a small, non-cancerous lipoma on her mammary area (a common benign lump as dogs age), but it doesn’t affect her health or activity at all. Otherwise, she’s in excellent shape and ready to enjoy many more years of love and adventure.

We’re heartbroken to rehome her, but due to hard times and living in an apartment, we can’t give her the space she deserves. She truly belongs with someone who can give her freedom to run, time, and attention.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s great with kids, calm inside, adventurous outside, and incredibly smart, Remy will fill your life with love and joy. She deserves to live out her years happy, running free, and being the center of someone’s world.

Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?: I will NOT let her go to just “anyone”. Please understand that she deserves the best as I’ve given her that for the last 9 years. I hate our circumstances for the next 4 years but I am also realistic to what I can or can’t handle. Our situation is very unfortunate. My father wants to adopt her but even his situation I don’t believe is a good fit for her.
Why are you rehoming your pet (primary reason)?: Housing is Inadequate for Pet
Details about rehoming reason (if needed): Unfortunately, as a military family, we are required to spend the next four years in an area where we must live in an apartment. It’s not fair to her since she thrives with more space to run and be outdoors. She deserves an active owner with the time, freedom, and environment to give her the best quality of life.
