Additional notes about your dog’s health history::
When he came home from the shelter he had worms and kennel cough but recovered just fine!
Has your dog ever shown any challenging behaviors, such as biting a person or another pet? If so, please share some context.:
He is dominant so he needs to be able to the dominant dog with another dog that will push back or a solo dog. My English setter is a sweet heart and doesn’t fight back so he has snapped at her a few times when we have all been cuddling, he gets jealous over his female owner. I think he wouldn’t do this if he knew I was dominant but he knows I’m not strong enough.
How often does your dog require grooming (e.g., bathing, brushing, trimming)? :
I bath him monthly at least, he likes showers. He likes to be brushed on his big bald head. His hair is super thin in areas so I put coconut oil on him (weekly in the winter for dandruff). His skin soaks it right up.

How is your dog with cats?:
Aggressive: Does not get along with cats and may show aggressive behavior.
What's the most endearing thing about your dog?:
His name is Sunshine for a reason. He will bring you happiness on even your darkest of days. He’s a loyal passionate best buddy. He is silly and sweet.
What criteria are important to you when considering an adoptive family or home for your pet?:
There is a male dominant presence as his owner. I used to think even a very woman could handle him but he truly does need that male energy to keep him in check. Other dogs or cats must be able to handle his rough play,
Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?:
He is a loving guy with a huge heart. It breaks mine to have to rehome him but I know there is a better fit out there for him, that makes him feel safe not just the protector.
Why are you rehoming your pet (primary reason)?:
Incompatible with Other Pets
Details about rehoming reason (if needed):
I have a small dog who he doesn’t mess with because she checked him. My English setter is too sweet and they play until she has enough of his roughness and then he doesn’t know how to stop.
