Hey there, humans! I’m Macks, a lovable furball who’s been through the ringer and come out the other side with a heart full of love and a sense of humor that could make even the grumpiest cat crack a smile!
I spent the first few years of my life with a couple of not-so-nice humans who left me in a cage all day (they are more suited for that type of living environment than me, but I digress). One day they moved out and left me behind. They never said why. Thankfully, Treat Dealer A.K.A. my foster mom reached out and I have been crashing at her place since. I had no idea being a dog was this much fun! Other than having me neutered, making me get all those shots, and letting that vampire lady take some blood, T.D. has been a pretty great host.
Some of my favorite dogging activities I have learned and love so far:
- Walkies - I think the Squirrels are messing with me, but who "nose" (see what I did there)?
- Sometimes I get to run, play, and do sniffies in a fenced in backyard—that's my absolute favorite! When T.D. lets me off the leash, my feet start moving like a cartoon character, and I am off doing these crazy things she calls “zoomies”
- Sleeping in bed with T.D. I like to lay on my back with all four paws in the air while she rubs my belly (it’s amazing). We also snuggle up on the couch and watch her boring shows. I’m usually napping through them.
We play this game called “find it”. Get this; T.D. gets a bunch of different treats and hides them around the apartment. She makes me stay in one spot while I eagerly anticipate where they might be hidden. Once she says, “find it”, It’s game on. I love using my sniffer to help me locate the tasty treats. It poops me out though. It’s hard being a detective.
- I have learned so many human words, and I love how T.D.’s voice sounds when she teaches me. She gets really excited and tells me what a good boy I am.
- I have met lots of people. I’m a really friendly guy, but sometimes I get sooo excited that I come in a little hot. I just like to get up close and personal, so everyone knows I’m friendly. Also, I love to be loved on! I am diligently working on my greeting manners, though.
** What I’m Looking For **
- A patient and understanding human/family who knows I may need a little time to fully settle in. But once I do, you’ll have a lifetime supply of my goofy, affectionate nature.
- Furry or human sibling(s) to hang out and play with would be awesome! Anyone who enjoys cuddles, playtime, and the occasional shenanigans—because life is too short not to be silly—will be my best buddy. Extra bonus points if you have a sense of humor and love to give belly rubs!
- A yard would be a dream come true! I would love to explore every nook and cranny. There could be hidden treasures like sticks, leaves, and maybe even some sneaky squirrels to watch. We could play fetch and let the occasional compulsory zoomie take over my body. My tail could be used as a windmill just thinking about all the great adventures we could have in our very own yard! ❤️
