Jarry

This is honestly the hardest thing I have ever had to do. He is the most loving dog I have had the pleasure of owning. He is also the happiest dog ever. He is house trained, but does have the occasional accident. Unfortunately he has resource guarding issues that has caused him to be aggressive on probably 6 times in the last 4 years. He has bitten me on 3 occasions that left wounds (no stitches or doctor visits). Although he wags his tail at children, he will attempt to bite them (hasn't drawn blood, but I would never risk him around children without a muzzle or crated). He is part herding dog, which is why I think he attempts to lunge at children. We went through training and when he grabs something he is told to "leave it" and has an E collar and he usually leaves it alone without issue. However, recently, he attacked my moms lower leg (ankle area) causing her to need stitches. This was because he had grabbed toothpaste and something else that was laid out on her bed. My mom and dad are who watches Jarry when I'm traveling. Due to this recent event, I am out of options and looking to rehome my boy. I do not want him to go to a shelter or be euthanized because of his behavior because he has so many other great traits. He cuddles me on my couch every day and night and loves to play tug of war and with his toys. He seems to do well with other dogs and loves to be outside. I think in the right home with the right person and maybe more training, he will make the very best friend.
