Bucky’s Story – Looking for a Calm Home
We rescued Bucky from Tragic to Magic about a year ago. When he first came home, he was a little rough physically weak legs and all — but we helped him heal up. Now he’s healthy, playful, and full of love. He’s house-trained, vaccinated, and absolutely adores toys and running around.
A few days ago, we had a really unfortunate situation. Another dog ran up barking and bit Bucky first, and he just reacted out of being startled. It was over in seconds, but because the other owner reported it to housing first and had a vet bill, they automatically labeled it as an “incident.” Housing gave us no option to keep him, even though he’s not aggressive — just scared and protective in that moment.
The timing made it even harder: my mom had just gotten home from appendix surgery, and we were exhausted from being at the hospital all night and day. It was just a perfect storm of bad timing, not neglect.
Now, housing is requiring that we rehome Bucky, so I’m looking for a safe, loving home for him. He’s such a sweet, gentle dog who deserves better than this situation. He’d do best in a calm environment, maybe with a yard or someone who can give him structure and love.

If you can open your home or know someone who can, please reach out. This decision breaks my heart, but I just want to make sure Bucky’s safe and cared for. ❤️
