I am reaching out in hopes that you may be able to help me find a loving, permanent home for my cat, Gherkin. This has been an incredibly difficult decision, but due to significant life changes—including welcoming a new baby and preparing for an upcoming move—I am no longer able to provide her with the time and attention she deserves.
Gherkin is a sweet and spirited calico with a rambunctious personality that makes her a lot of fun to be around. She originally came to me from a student who asked if I could temporarily keep her until their living situation improved. Unfortunately, that reunification never happened, but I made sure Gherkin had the best possible life while she was with me and my other pets.
She is spayed and fully up to date on all feline vaccinations, including her rabies vaccine, which is valid through February 2026. She loves climbing her cat tree, plays well when engaged respectfully, and she’s excellent about using only approved scratching surfaces. Once she trusts someone, she allows them to pick her up, and she will happily curl up in bed with you and sleep like she just put in a 12-hour shift in a coal factory—completely knocked out and content.
Gherkin would be a wonderful fit for a family with older toddlers or children who understand how to interact gently and respectfully with animals. She is genuinely a very sweet cat, and I am devastated to be in a position where rehoming her is necessary. My only hope is that she can be placed somewhere she will be deeply loved, well cared for, and given the attention she thrives on.
