"I wanna be where my people are!" That's Tonks' motto and she shows you her affection all day - from her tail-wagging, morning greeting to the end of the day when you're ready to relax on the couch with a buddy. Tonks is a 55-lb Catahoula Leopard Dog who is very active but also enjoys laying on the cool floor, curling up on her bed, or lounging on the couch with you to unwind and recharge. She enjoys games like "find your treat", chewing on bones, and loves working on "projects" getting treats out of kong toys.
Tonks is 6 years old, house trained, crate trained, responds to commands, and picks up training well. Because she is so affectionate and excited around humans, she would thrive in a calm, consistent environment which we are not able to provide with 2 little humans. She also needs a home where she is the only animal. There are some triggers (mailman, package trucks, and some neighborhood dogs) that cause her to get agitated.
She would love a home where she can be energetic, show her love (licks, snuggles, excited greetings), and can take direction from an experienced dog owner.
Here are quotes from two of our dog sitters:
“I adore her!” and “Tonks is one of my faves!”
