I have had this gal since she was 10 weeks old, so this isn’t easy, but it’s become pretty evident that it’s what’s best for her. She currently lives in a massive pen, but even so, she’s restless and craves more space. I really think she needs to (at the very least) have her own room to free roam in or something of the sort, and unfortunately I am not in a living situation to provide that for her.
She enjoys being pet, tolerates being held for short periods of time, and is a hoot when she is out of the pen, binkying like youve never seen. She is fully litterbox trained (litterbox included, but no litter, I need it for my other bunny) never has an accident. Has annual vet exams and they confirm she is healthy besides having some minor sore hocks (common for the breed) and being a bit on the chubby side (can include vet records if you need!) she is very calm and patient for nail trims as well, she won’t give you trouble. Also allows the vet to do as they need without issue.
I must stress, she is NOT KID FRIENDLY. She needs an adult owner and to live in a mellow household, she is more anxious than most bunnies. Even sizzling on the stovetop triggers a frenzy
she is unfortunately territorial even being spayed, which is why I was never willing to risk attempting to bond her with my other rabbit (she’s also 3x bigger than my older girl.) with that being said, I don’t know how receptive she would be to another rabbit. She is however great with my cat, and my dog when she greets her in a calm manner. She is not one to bite, but will lunge and grunt when I enter her space to clean it.
Another thing to note is that she is STRONG. She will flip over any water bowl that is not a casserole dish/baking dish. She needs very sturdy things in her orbit. Also note that she can’t have blankets/beds because she will tear them up. Even floor mats she has gotten used to tearing to shreds (which may not be the case once she’s in a bigger space, but couldn’t say for certain.)
I will attach a photo of her current pen here. I just ask if you know you cannot provide more than this, please don’t reach out, I want her to be happy and I know in order to achieve that, she needs as much space and stimulation as possible.
She is very food motivated and not a picky eater. She loves her daily salads! She also enjoys digging boxes and foraging boxes. Loves toys she can tear apart as well!
Not in a rush to rehome her as I want to do this right and make sure she’s going to someone who is really a good fit for her. She needs an experienced rabbit owner with kindness and patience to give her the chance she deserves to thrive. I so sincerely wish it could be me, but i have no idea how long I’ll be in this one bedroom apartment.
