Marmalade

Senior Cat Marmalade Looking for New Home

Marmalade belonged to a relative who recently died. She has just recently been vaccinated for rabies and FVRCP and had blood, urine, and stool analysis which showed slight elevation in proBNP levels and lower than normal urine specific gravity. She is being put on kidney safe diet. Currently, she is on no medication. She was previously living in an empty house with her brother and another female cat. She doesn’t seem to get along with either of the other cats, so she would benefit from being the only cat in her new home. She is quite friendly, loves scratches, and likes to sleep at the foot of your bed. She enjoys playing with her catnip stuffed squirrel toy, batting it around the wood floor and chasing it. She is a prolific purrer. She eats quite readily and has no problem using the litter box. Though she is a senior cat, she still seems able to groom herself and is quite lively. Marmalade would do best as the only cat in a house with no young kids or dogs.

What criteria are important to you when considering an adoptive family or home for your pet?: That Marmalade is the only cat; that there are no dogs or young kids; that they have the necessary time to play with her; that they have the proper resources for future vet care and treatments (very important) as well as the resources to get her toys, other cat related items she never previously had
Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?: Marmalade came from a tough environment (hoarded house, owner too sick to properly care for her and others) so she’s been through some stuff.
Why are you rehoming your pet (primary reason)?: Pet Parent Passed Away
Details about rehoming reason (if needed): Relative passed away so we took in her 3 cats (including Marmalade). Three is too many for us and Marmalade doesn’t like the other cats, so she’d do much better in a new place (if it’s the right one).
