Jinx

Jinx was taken in by my elderly parents a couple years back when in the middle of a VERY cold and rainy winter, he was taking shelter under their porch. They took him and noticed he had microchip collar on him. I helped them try to locate his owners, with no success. All the information the company had was old. Jinx has been very loved the last couple years. We took him to the vet as we noticed he was very thin and would sometimes vomit after eating. Jinx had a clean bill of health except he was diagnosed with diabetes. He is on insulin 3 units twice a day and he has responded very well to treatment. He has put some healthy weight on and has been great ever since! The vets estimate him to be between 12 & 15 years of age. But you would never tell! Jinx did live with another cat in my parents home for a while and they got along fine. He also was around younger children (1 & 4) and he was fine with them as well. We do not know about dogs. Jinx has a VERY unique trait. He doesn't have a "voice". He "meows" but no sound comes out. It's very cute. We do not know if he was born this way or if something happened during his time out on the streets before my parents took him in.
Jinx is quite the love bug. He loves to curl up on your lap, he gives kisses, and likes a nice belly rub! Although he is not as active as a kitten or younger cat....Jinx still likes to play and chase a ball around (aluminum foil balls are his favorite lol)
Unfortunately, this past year Jinx's world has been flipped upside down. Both his humans were very sick. His human mom passed away July 2025 and his human Dad will be going to assisted living the end of this month (January). I have been the one handling Jinx's medications for the last year and making sure I am there twice a day for his med doses. Unfortunately I am unable to take him in as I already have 4 other pets and my landlord will not allow me to have another.
My wish/hope is to find Jinx a VERY loving home with someone who either has experience with a diabetic cat, or is willing to learn. I promise it's not as scary as it sounds! My wish would be for someone to take him in and love him and be his last furever home and maybe willing to share updates on him now and then so I can share with my Dad (who is completely devastated and sad).
I know his last furever person is out there!!
