If you ever wondered what it would be like to live with Dante, the dog in the Disney movie Coco - here's your chance to find out! Nacho is a standard Xoloitzcuintli, an ancient breed prized by Mayans and owned by Frida Kahlo. The breed is considered loyal to their owners but aloof to strangers, and Nacho is no exception. He takes a few minutes to warm up to new people, but once he gets to know you, you have a buddy for life. If you're looking for your own mobile cuddle partner and personal heater, read on to learn about this one-of-a-kind pup.

Has your dog ever shown any challenging behaviors, such as biting a person or another pet? If so, please share some context.:
He is reactive/barks at other dogs while on leash and can be impolite off leash and bark/lunge on occasion, especially when more than one dog is around. He barks at visitors (known or not) and jumps in excitement at the people he's excited to see (not his immediate family who he sees regularly). He growls when approached/touched unexpectedly by a child.

What's the most endearing thing about your dog?:
I read once that "Xolos are happiest in a pile" and it's 1000% true - he will sit on your legs, lap, shoulder and cuddle warmly with you whenever given a chance.
What criteria are important to you when considering an adoptive family or home for your pet?:
Engaged and frequently present adults and/or older children. Patience with his anxiety and time/willingness to work on training him and building his confidence.
Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?:
Due to the same genetic trait that makes them hairless, many Xolos experience tooth loss. Nacho has most of his but we don't use chew bones to make sure he keeps them. Also, his ears are not trained up like you see on many Xolos because the taping stressed him out when he was a puppy.
Why are you rehoming your pet (primary reason)?:
Schedule, No Time
