Mavis

Mavis is a 2 yr old pure bred female boxer. She is shy and timid when you first meet her but once she gets to know you, she is sweet, affectionate, cuddly, energetic, friendly, and a loyal companion. She gets along well with children and male dogs but has been known to be aggressive towards other females. She loves to play with rope toys and do zoomies around the yard. She is crate trained and can’t be left alone out of the crate. Her shots are up to date and she is on heart guard and nextguard.

What's the most endearing thing about your dog?: She is very gentle and affectionate
What criteria are important to you when considering an adoptive family or home for your pet?: A family who can give her a lot of love and attention. I think she would be best suited as the only pet or only female dog. She needs a big fenced in yard to run around in or go for walks daily. She is energetic and playful so she needs a lot of physical activity
Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?: I acquired Mavis when she was a year old because her original owner purchased her for the sole purpose of breeding and decided she didn’t have time for her. She was never bred but is not spayed. The first year of her life with her original owner was spent living outside alone. She was not socialized her first year and had never been inside so she is a bit timid and anxious. It took her about 3 days to feel comfortable going to the bathroom outside around my other dogs when I got her. I have 3 other boxers she has socialized with daily but she still acts anxious and timid or submissive towards them. I have another female boxer and they have been aggressive towards each other on occasion. She has never fully adjusted to being in the pack so I think she would be better suited as a single pet, or only female dog.
Why are you rehoming your pet (primary reason)?: Incompatible with Other Pets
Details about rehoming reason (if needed): I have 3 other boxers. Two males and one female. She gets along well with the two males but not my other female boxer. They have gotten aggressive with each other several times.
