Penny

At just 5 pounds, 15-year-old Penny proves that big personalities come in tiny packages! This adorable little Chihuahua is full of spunk, sass, and devotion. True to her breed, Penny prefers to reign as the one and only—she is not a fan of other dogs or cats and would thrive as an only pet. She’s a queen, and she wants her person all to herself.

Penny adores being held, snuggling close, and being carried around like the royalty she is. When she’s not cuddled up, she’s a surprisingly brave little explorer—happily patrolling the fenced yard in her foster home and even venturing out into the snow! She walks great on a leash - you couldn't tell her age as she sometimes even jumps over obstacles or to help you pick her up.

Penny came to us through our rescue, which helps terminally ill individuals find loving new homes for their pets. She was deeply loved by her owner, who sadly passed away. Due to financial hardship, veterinary care had been limited, so we are making sure Penny receives everything she needs to live her golden years in comfort and dignity.

She is now spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, has had full bloodwork, and is scheduled for a dental. Penny is housebroken. She can hold it overnight as well if you want a cuddle bug in bed with you. She also has age-related hearing loss but is perfectly healthy - she doesn't require any medication. She loves to go on walks and sniff and also loves to hop around like a little bunny.

Penny would be happiest with someone who is retired or works from home and can shower her with the love and attention she craves. In return, she will offer fierce loyalty, endless snuggles, and the kind of companionship only a devoted senior dog can give.

If you’re ready to open your heart to this tiny queen, Penny is waiting to claim her throne in your home. Interested? Email us at tysonsplacerescue@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application available here: https://tysonsplacerescue.org/cat-and-dog-adoptions/#adopt
