Maggie (she has had that name for 5 years now, but I'm sure you could try to change it)... really is the best cuddler. She has never, ever harmed a human. Other dogs and cats, she does act aggressive towards. Not aggressive as in biting, but she barks and growls and when they get closer to her (especially if they're larger) she will show them her belly. She LOVES her belly rubs. For humans, she greets you almost always by rolling to show you her belly. She tries to act tough with smaller dogs and cats, but literally she is the most submissive dog I have ever met. She is very trainable and SO good at holding it. She never has accidents, even if I am held up somewhere after work and have to get home after 8 hours (doesn't happen often). She likes to sleep next to you, but if you don't want her to for whatever reason, she listens and goes into her crate. The crate I have right now is just for sleeping or relaxing at will, it's not really big enough to close the door. She uses it more as a den. So, I checked crate trained below because she has no negative associations with it and I believe she could really be crate trained if someone had a bigger crate. She is a chug (part pug), which means she has the most beautiful, soulful eyes... I really do not want to give her up, but she deserves a better home. I live mostly by myself, and I can tell she gets lonely when I'm at work and the kids are at school. Oh my gosh, she is AMAZING with kids. Absolutely loves them, and is gentle as can be. Also, because there are weird color options... her fur color is golden (not red or orange, imo). She does play fetch with her plushies, it's the cutest thing. But, I wouldn't recommend having her do that outside unless you have a fenced in yard (high fence, no small holes). Her other owners used to let her roam the neighborhood, because she would jump their fence. So, she would be gone for hours. She always comes back, but you never know what she could get into at the time-- although, she's pretty wary of cars now at least. Chew toys are a waste for her. She never chews! Since I have had her, I have been very consistent with flea/tick treatment (advantix). She has never had any issue with this.

What commands does your dog know?:
Stay, sit, wait, no, okay (okay is to come in the house after her paws have been wiped off), come, go get it
How does your dog react to being left alone for short periods?:
She barks a little when you first leave, but if you tell her no she usually stops. She's a bit anxious (her breed really is), and may whine a little bit at first but eventually she gets used to it especially if you're in a routine.
Are there any specific triggers that cause your dog anxiety or stress?:
I believe it's that I need to be out of the house for a little over 8 hours per day. I don't think she likes this, as she always acts super lonely when I leave and come back.
Is there a daily routine that works well for your dog (feeding, walking, sleep)?:
She loves going for short to medium walks on the leash. Feeding: I try to space it out by 2 hours between each feeding, because her breed is prone to gas and burping. She doesn't always eat the second meal, but the vet says she is ideal weight.

Spayed or Neutered

Does your pet have any history of health issues or medical conditions that potential adopters should be aware of?:
No
Has your dog ever shown any challenging behaviors, such as biting a person or another pet? If so, please share some context.:
She gets into the garbage when she's left home alone for extended periods (like when I'm at work). I recommend keeping these behind a closed door if you must be out of the house for several hours.
How often does your dog require grooming (e.g., bathing, brushing, trimming)? :
She doesn't require anything more than what's typically recommended.
Does your dog have a dental care routine (e.g., brushing, chews, professional cleanings)?:
I give her dental treats and brush her teeth every other day... only every other day, because she hates to do it.

How is your dog with other dogs?:
Selective: Gets along with some dogs but not others.
How is your dog with cats?:
Not sure: Haven't had enough interaction to determine.
What's the most endearing thing about your dog?:
She is a lover. She'll let you move her in any direction, snuggle her any way... in your lap, carrying her, whatever!
What criteria are important to you when considering an adoptive family or home for your pet?:
It probably would be best if she were the only pet, and if at least one person in the house were present for the majority of a given day
Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?:
I have done pet sitting with her. She responds well to different people who have come to my home to pet-sit her. Always very friendly. Also, I have had her for almost a year now. I have heard it's best, if you HAVE to give your dog away, to do it within a year so they don't get too attached. I feel terrible, and really don't want to give her away, but I really do feel it is the best decision for her.
Why are you rehoming your pet (primary reason)?:
Schedule, No Time
Details about rehoming reason (if needed):
I think I have spoken enough about the schedule issues, but also I cannot afford (right now) to get her a larger crate or really to treat her if any serious illness came up. I have had a recent financial change, and have just realized that overall it's for the best to give her to a home with more/ better resources. Also, the time below (how long I can keep her) may change as I think I may have some car troubles to fix on the horizon. Unsure.
If applicable, do you have the legal right or necessary permission from the breeder or rescue organization to rehome this pet? :
Not Applicable
Yes
How long will you be able to keep your pet before you may need to consider surrendering him or her to a rescue?:
Not an option, my pet will stay with me for as long as it takes
Who is your veterinarian?:
Dunkirk Animal Clinic
What do you feed your pet, and does he/she have any feeding quirks or preferences?:
Dry food, one half cup at each feeding. Two per day offered. I have described feeding habits above mostly, but one other thing is that she drinks a lot of water. The dry food I feed her is Blue Buffalo Chicken and Rice for small breeds.
Do you currently have pet insurance?:
