Inti

Inti is a beautiful 3.5-year-old female Border Collie with a heart as big as the mountains she loves to roam.

Compassionate, sensitive, and deeply devoted, she is the kind of dog who will match your energy on the trail and then melt into your lap at the end of the day.

If you're an outdoor enthusiast, Inti is ready to be your ultimate adventure partner. She thrives mountain biking, hiking, camping, backcountry skiing, swimming, and cruising around town next to the bike. And when the adventure is over, she is the most affectionate, cuddly companion you could ask for.

Inti is being re-homed not because she isn't deeply loved — she absolutely is — but because she deserves a life that truly suits her tender, loyal nature. Her greatest strength is also her greatest sensitivity: she loves her person fiercely. Because of this, she can take time to warm up to new people, and in moments where she feels uncertain or protective, she has nipped strangers and friends — though she has only broken skin once. She is not an aggressive dog; she is a deeply loyal and protective and simply needs the right environment to feel safe and secure.

Inti would flourish with a grounded, active human (or a small, tight-knit household) who lives a quieter social life and can offer her consistency, activity, and the stability she craves. She doesn't need a big world — she just needs her world to feel safe. And when she finds that? She will love you with everything she has.

If you're looking for a soulful, adventurous, and deeply devoted companion, Inti just might be your perfect match.

What criteria are important to you when considering an adoptive family or home for your pet?: They must be active, loving and engaging with her. She loves activity, and this is also how you gain her love and trust. The new people must love to cuddle at times, as she is very affectionate once she feels save with people.
Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?: Overall Inti is an amazing dog and I love her so so much. I have never experienced such a pure love before. She is special and also needs a loving, grounded, consistent, active family or human.
Why are you rehoming your pet (primary reason)?: Pet Behavior
Details about rehoming reason (if needed): The main reason I am rehoming Inti is because of how anxious & protective she gets around new people. This has not been mixing well with my very social and travel heavy lifestyle. She needs a grounded, consistent home and since I am not providing that, she gets more and more anxious when I am away and when shes in anxious/protective mode she has nipped multiple people on different occasions. She has only broken skin once, but it has been very challenging to navigate my highly social life with her protectiveness. When she has nipped people, I can now see when it's going to happen before it does, so I've been able to redirect the behavior at times. Overall, I think she would much better in a grounded, consistent, present home.
If applicable, do you have the legal right or necessary permission from the breeder or rescue organization to rehome this pet? :
Not Applicable
Yes

What do you feed your pet, and does he/she have any feeding quirks or preferences?: Taste of the Wild, then for dinner I will add a scoop of pumpkin puree or chicken broth. For breakfast, she usually lets it sit out all day and eats when she wants. For dinner (when the goodies are added) I have her, sit, stay, wait and then say "okay" and point to the food for her to eat.

Yes
