Wolfie

The Sweetest Girl Who Needs Love & Consistency

Wolfie is an incredibly sweet and social girl with very manageable special needs. She’s unbelievably affectionate. She loves being held over your shoulder, presses her face against yours when you sleep, and runs to the door to greet you when you come home. She doesn’t just want to be near you—she needs that connection. She loves to play hide-and-seek, where you both chase each other around the house. She's also incredibly adaptable--she's stayed with other cats, a dog, a young special needs child, and has no problem with car rides.

Wolfie has Feline Hyperesthesia Syndrome, but with daily medication, she’s doing SO much better. Her ideal home would be a place where she’s not or rarely alone—a home with two or more people (or at least someone who works from home) and other (gentle) animals, especially cats, would be ideal. She thrives with consistent presence, because it helps keep her calm and distracted from a potential feline hyperesthesia episode.

She also needs someone who can keep her on a consistent routine—her medication is given twice a day, about 8 hours apart, and that structure has made such a positive difference in her life.

I’m madly in love with Wolfie and desperately want to keep her. But as a single woman who works in an office, I know she’s not getting what she needs to thrive. Wolfie would do best with someone who wants a deeply loving, constant companion—a true “cat person” who will give her lots of attention and affection. She’s come such a long way, and she deserves a home where she can feel safe and adored.

Wolfie will come with all her favorite toys, including a play tent, bubble backpack, vented backpack, carrier, automatic-play toys, etc, and cat tree depending on where her new forever home is.

Pet's Name: Wolfie
Cat: Primary Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Birthdate (an estimate is okay): May 15, 2025
Age Category: Young
Where did you get your pet?: Wolfie was a tiny, palm-sized kitten when I found her living next to a trash can at the Shell station just outside Corsicana, Texas in late June 2025. I had 9 hours of driving left, and she was a champ the whole time. (She's still great on car rides, and sleeps through them!). By the time I got home to Austin, I’d fallen in love with this sweet baby.
Was this pet ever in a shelter, rescue, or foster program? If yes, please provide details.: No, she's been with me since that fateful day at the gas station.
Adoption Day (when did you adopt your pet? An estimate is okay.): June 28, 2025
Gender: Female
Size (at full-grown): Small
Approximate adult weight in pounds (number only): 8
Primary Color: Calico/Multi/Tricolor
What are your pet's favorite toys and activities?: She LOVES playing hide-and-seek across the house, chasing me from room to room and letting her chase me in return. Bird watching from her window, snuggling on the couch, chasing ribbons or wands, watching CatTV, and being in her tent outside. She also loves "trips" to the refrigerator when I hold her and let her smell everything.
Does your cat have any amusing or peculiar habits, like 'chattering' at birds through the window or fetching toys?: She is adorably vocal in an almost human way. When you call her name or surprise her, she responds with a little "Mrow" as if to say "Yes?" She gets excited when the toilet flushes and loves to watch it all swirl down :P
What is the most adorable thing about your cat?: The way she loves to be held, and snuggles against your face. Also her exotic, thick black stripes <3

Spayed or Neutered
House/Litter-Trained
Microchipped

Does your pet have any history of health issues or medical conditions that potential adopters should be aware of?: She has feline hyperesthesia, which makes cats chase or "attack" their tails. Vets don't know what causes it, but daily gabapentin (which she is on, twice a day) is known to help, and has helped her tremendously! I've also been able to identify her triggers, in order to prevent her from having an episode. Having a steady presence of another person/people and/or pets seems to help her the most. She may still attack her tail a couple of times a day, but putting her "toast" cone on almost always ends it, since she can't get to her tail that way.
