Ember

This is Ember (or Emmi), and she would love to join a new family!

She’s a mix of herders (probably Border Collie, Sheltie or Collie, maybe German Shepherd, Aussie).
She’s medium sized (about 50 lbs), 3 years old, spayed, up to date on vaccines.
We adopted her from a shelter when she was 1.

She is a very sweet, loyal, girl who wants to be with and protect her family and home. She loves children and adores her family. She is super smart, very polite to us, listens pretty well, and has a calm, very quiet personality. She's usually up for whatever - walks, belly-rubs, playing, training, napping, just chilling with her people, riding in the car, etc.

She gets along well with our other, very-active dog, though it takes her a little bit to warm up to new dogs. She does fine when inside with our big housecat. She'll stalk him if he goes outside.

She is amazing with our family, but when people come over she will do best if she's on a leash or in a kennel/dog run, as she can be very protective of our family and yard. (Ask me more about this.)

We love her, and think she’d be happiest with someone on a medium to large property where you don't have a lot of people coming and going, or where you can always make sure she's safe in a kennel or on leash before people visit.
She might enjoy a job working with larger animals, as she is all herding dog, or just being the protector of a large yard.
Or she would enjoy living with a person who can just devote lots of time to her and are willing to do some training.
