Patches

This is Patches. He also goes by Patchy, Peaches, Peep, Peepers, or Patchpatch. He is perhaps one of the friendliest cats ever known. He was a stray that circled our property for the last few years. During the ice storm we decided to bring him inside and we fell in love with him. We are only rehoming him because integration with our other two cats hasn’t worked out. Right now he’s living separately in our basement, and goes outside during the day. We feel this isn’t fair to him because he really just wants to be around his people 24/7. He loves to snuggle, and could be held forever if you let him. He loves to follow you around, or sit next to you on the couch.

He would do well as an indoor cat or an indoor/outdoor cat.

He does great with our 19 lb dog.

We have tried to integrate him with our cats. At first he had no problem with them but our cats weren’t nice to him. After several failed attempts he seems to now be on the defensive. We think he could do well with a cat or cats that are good with other cats but ours are just very picky and have made him feel unwelcome.

When he wants attention he can sometimes try to climb your leg with his claws out. He would be good with cat savvy children but probably not super small ones just because he doesn’t quite understand that claws out = pain. He never scratches or bites it’s just when he wants to climb into your arms to be held.

Patches is likely roughly 5 years old but we are not totally sure.

He is UTD on all shots and neutered

He can use a litterbox but generally goes outside right now

He is a great hunter / mouser

We are really sad to see him go because he is the best cat ever but unfortunately we have to prioritize our other cats and his happiness over our own.
