Sasha would be very active if she had someone to exercise her every day. I listed her as an escape artist because if she is off leash in a non-fenced area, she will run away in play and is very hard to get to come back on command.
Sasha is very good with kids, but tends to chase after children of all ages if they run away from her. This has resulted in her knocking over a few smaller children she is chasing.
She approaches any men, women, or kids who come into my apartment.
She had training as a puppy, and recently had individual training, her only training, one day a week for eight or more weeks in the fall and winter. She trained with Alexandria Dog Training Company.
I live in a third-story apartment. Sasha has access to the outside porch, and she will bark at passersby below, especially at dogs being walked in her territory.
Sasha is a loving dog. After I walk her and play catch with her in a little fenced dog park next door, I will sometimes take her outside the park firmly on leash and allow, and even encourage, younger children to pet her on the chest or on her back while she sits. For several of these children, it was their first time ever petting a dog. So with training, she may be approachable for many kids.

Details about rehoming reason (if needed):
I AM MOVING OUT OF VIRGINIA TO JOIN MY WIFE IN MICHIGAN IN EARLY JUNE. SHE IS ON DISABILITY AND IS CURRENTLY IS RENTING A ROOM ON A CONTRACT UNTIL SEPTEMBER, AND CAN’T HAVE PETS. I DON’T HAVE HOUSING LINED UP YET, AND IT’S UNCERTAIN WHETHER I WILL BE ABLE TO HAVE A PET WHEN I DO. I WAS WILLED SASHA WHEN MY LANDLORD DIED IN MAY 2025. I HAVE LIVED WITH OR AROUND HER SINCE SHE WAS A PUPPY. I LOVE SASHA, BUT I ALSO THINK SHE WOULD BE BETTER OFF WITH SOMEONE WHO CAN BE MORE ACTIVE WITH HER. I CURRENTLY TAKE HER FOR WALKS EVERY 3 DAYS, WHILE ALSO TAKING HER TO A VERY SMALL FENCED-IN DOG PLAY AREA FOR FETCH. BUT I THINK SHE NEEDS MORE ACTIVITY AND EXERCISE THAN I CAN GIVE HER. I JUST TURNED 68 AND RECENTLY WAS SUCCESSFULLY TREATED FOR PROSTATE CANCER, BUT DURING MY RADIATION TREATMENT I WAS OFTEN TOO TIRED TO TAKE HER OUTSIDE, AND SHE BASICALLY VEGETATED. I WANT A BETTER LIFE FOR HER THAN ONE DEPENDENT ON MY PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS.
