Meet River — a 6-year-old red-nose pitbull mix with a huge personality and even bigger heart for her people. River is a medium-sized, high-energy dog who absolutely loves human attention, especially from men. She’s incredibly affectionate and happiest when she’s curled up under the covers cuddling with her person after a long day of play.
River loves tug-of-war, staying active, and being involved in whatever you’re doing. She would thrive with someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and can give her the physical activity and structure she needs. She has completed shock collar training and knows basic commands.
River needs to be the only pet in the home. She is reactive toward other animals, especially cats, so a home without other pets is a must. Because of her reactivity, she’ll do best with an experienced owner who understands strong, energetic dogs and can continue providing consistent boundaries and guidance.
Despite her challenges, River is deeply loving, loyal, goofy, and devoted to her humans. In the right environment, she has so much love to give and will make an incredibly affectionate companion.
