Cannon

looking to rehome cannon by end of week.

shelter had him as a lab mix

over a year old

has been neutered

have had him for about 4 months.

he is kennel trained
potty trained
knows sit
likes to play tug of war and fetch but you have to get the ball yourself lol

he loves walks but i don’t take him on many because of how he reacts towards strangers.

adopted from Killeen animal shelter

good with my kids (2 & 5) but gets anxious when they start playing rough with each other or being loud

likes to play with my cat

he would benefit greatly from training.

he is not comfortable with strangers. he will bark and bark if someone’s coming up to the house or even just walking in the neighborhood and needs to be separated away from anyone who comes to visit that he doesn’t have an established relationship with. he only knows my family in my household.

he bit my mother when she came to visit us 2 months ago, we didn’t know to keep him separated and he ran out of the other room and bit her leg- it punctured the skin but wasn’t serious. she stayed for 2 weeks and he would bark at her and lunge at her the whole time she was here.

before this, we had a pet sitter for a day and he had no issues with cannon.

he doesn’t bark or seem affected by other dogs at all though, he likes to play with our neighbors dog.

he is a sweet protective boy. he would be a great protector for your family once he establishes himself as your dog. With proper training I think his stranger reactivity could be mitigated.

he seems to favor men over women just from seeing how he behaves with me vs with my husband but he is a sweet boy to me too. just seems more bonded to my husband.

i don’t have the time or means to train him or do the things he needs. it is just me and my 2 small kids. i am going back home to GA next month as my husband is deployed. he is scheduled for the shelter but am trying again to rehome him here.
