Barkely is extremely sweet and well-behaved at home. He is people-friendly and, on the street, is friendly with most dogs. He is a playful and handsome shepherd mix. He loves to play in the snow! He's medium sized, knee-height, about 35-40 pounds. He was #2 on a shelter kill-list because his number was coming up. We adopted him last fall with the hope of either keeping him or finding him a forever home. He is not cat friendly and, because we rescue cats, we could not keep him. He has been fostered for several months, but will lose his foster home at the end of July. Barkely's challenge is that he chases squirrels (and any small wild animal). He's fully house trained and has never even tried to get food out of garbage or off the counter. He's a good boy. He needs an adopter who will be patient with him and help divert his chase behavior. No one's perfect, right? We're incredibly worried. In just 3 weeks he may have to be surrended to a shelter again. He barely made it out last time. He deserves so much more than to go back. We know his hero is out there, somewhere.
