Meet Winter! As a purebred, all-black, long-haired German Shepherd Dog, be prepared to have people stop you on nearly every walk to tell you how beautiful she is :)
Winter was well-socialized as a puppy, knows tons of commands, and has completed 20+ classes including Agility, Nosework, Obedience, and many more. She also earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen title, as well as the AKC Trick Dog Novice and Intermediate titles. However, don't mistake her for a 'working dog' - she is perfectly content to be happily unemployed, sleeping in and hanging out/playing with you. Her favorite things include playing with other dogs and people, inspecting everything that comes into the house, playing supervisor for everything you do, sticking her nose out the window during car rides, pupcups, and anything involving chick-fil-a grilled nuggets.
Winter is a total social butterfly who loves dogs, people, and kids, so she would love to be with a family with another dog and at least one person that can hang out with her most of the day - while she does not have separation anxiety, she hates feeling left out and will start to get antsy on walks if her social needs aren't met. Like any big dog, a large fenced yard would be preferable - after all, where else would you put the kiddie pool she can splash around in to beat the summer heat?

In full transparency, Winter has been diagnosed with 'mild left-sided coxofemoral degenerative joint disease' aka arthritis in her left hip. It was found as part of a preventative x-ray done when she was spayed - she was and still is symptomless and I've never seen it affect her in any way. However, she is on a once-a-month injection to make sure it doesn't get worse, and like with any GSD you will need to protect her hips by limiting jumping/long hikes/walks on hard surfaces/etc. The injection process is very simple, quick, and can be done yourself at home.
