This is Burger, a sweet male indoor cat looking for a safe and permanent home. Due to a change in our living situation, we unfortunately cannot keep him after August 4, so we are urgently trying to find the right person or family for him rather than placing him in an unsafe situation.
Burger is affectionate once he feels comfortable and enjoys being around people he trusts. He does best in a calm, quiet home where he can adjust at his own pace. When entering a new home, he should initially be kept in one quiet room with his food, water, and litter box. He likes having a covered hiding place or somewhere high to sit. Once he feels secure, he will begin exploring the rest of the home on his own.
He previously stayed in a loud, open home with two toddlers and very few places to hide, and the environment was overwhelming for him. Because of this, a quieter household without small children would likely be the best fit. He has ignored dogs in the past, but for his comfort and safety, we are looking for a home without dogs.
Burger is:
• Strictly an indoor cat
• Not currently neutered
• Due for updated vaccinations
• Litter-box trained
• Most comfortable when his litter box is placed in a quiet room or corner
• Used to having his litter cleaned daily
• Affectionate and sweet after being given time to adjust
We want his transition to be as easy as possible. He can come with approximately a one-month supply of his current cat food and litter. This will allow his new owner to slowly transition him to another brand if needed.
We would like to ask a few basic questions about the home, other animals, and plans for his care before arranging an adoption.
Burger is located in Grayslake, Illinois, in the Lake County area. Transportation may be discussed depending on the distance.
Please only reach out if you are prepared to give him a stable, permanent indoor home and allow him time to adjust. We love Burger and want to make sure he goes somewhere safe, patient, and caring.
