Meet Our Blue-Eyed Sweet Pea Boy ❤️

We are looking for a very special home for our beloved Husky/Pit Bull mix. This has been an incredibly difficult decision, but his owner is leaving for college and is unable to provide the level of care and companionship he needs.

Ozzy is a loving, loyal Husky/Pit Bull mix with a huge heart and an even bigger love for cuddles. He is incredibly affectionate, people-oriented, and happiest when he is included in family life. Once he trusts you, he forms a deep bond and wants to be by your side—following you around the house, curling up next to you on the couch, or enjoying belly rubs and attention.

Ozzy has a playful, goofy personality that will make you smile. He has plenty of energy and enjoys long walks, outdoor adventures, and especially exploring wooded trails where he can sniff and investigate. After exercise and some initial excitement, he settles down nicely and is equally happy relaxing and snuggling with his people.

Ozzy experiences separation anxiety and does best with someone or a family who is home often, works from home, or has a flexible schedule. When left alone, his anxiety can become significant. He was recently prescribed medication to help manage his anxiety.

Ozzy is intelligent and capable of learning. He participated in professional training, and his trainer noted that he has excellent potential and made meaningful progress. He knows several basic commands and responds well to patience, consistency, positive reinforcement, and engaging rewards.

Ozzy loves to go hiking and for car rides! Because of his strength and leash pulling, he has not had many opportunities to visit dog parks. However, he loves walking in the woods and made progress with his trainer. With structure, regular practice, and clear expectations, he has the ability to continue developing into an exceptional companion.

Ozzy has done well with the two small dogs he already knows, but his behavior with other unfamiliar dogs is unknown.

Ozzy’s ideal home would be with someone who understands his separation anxiety. Most importantly, he needs a lifelong home where he will be loved and included as a valued member of the family.
