Juno: Unique-Looking 8-Year-Old Jindo/Husky Mix

We've loved Juno since she was 6 months old, have owned her for 8 years, so it's heartbreaking to say we need to find her a new home. With a newborn, a toddler, and a recent move, we no longer have the time, energy, or resources to give her the life she deserves.

Juno is a wonderful dog in so many ways: sweet and mellow at home, and extremely social and friendly with people and dogs outside it. She does great at doggy daycare, loves boarding, and is an excellent travel companion.

Her challenge is specific to unfamiliar visitors in our home, where she can become protective and territorial. This has gotten worse recently, and recently she nipped a neighbor who was entering our house for the first time. It was a minor bite, but it was a wake-up call. Juno had never shown aggression before, and we believe it reflects how stretched thin we've become (less exercise, less stimulation, less attention) rather than who she fundamentally is.

Juno was adopted from Korea and had separation anxiety when we first adopted her, which we worked hard on with our vet and behaviorists over the years. She's come a long way, but she still thrives with structure and consistency we can no longer provide.

We're looking for a home that can offer:

Daily exercise, socialization, and mental stimulation
A fenced yard where she can roam
No young children or other types of animals such as cats
Ideally an experienced dog owner who can help her feel secure with new people

Juno deserves a family who can give her what she needs to thrive. We love her so much, and we're hoping to find her a more appropriate environment to live in her golden years.

Timid around young children so I would not recommend a home with rambunctious toddlers. Does not like to be let alone for too long. Has a high prey drive so would not do well with other types of animals in the home aside from dogs. Also needs an enclosed yard to roam free in.

Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?: Selective personality inside vs. outside of the home. Is much more protective inside the home than outside the home. Outside of home she is very friendly with other dogs and humans.
