What are your pet's favorite toys and activities?: Phoebe’s favorite activity is lounging in the sunshine, rolling around and soaking up the rays. She also likes being held and petted.

Does your cat have any amusing or peculiar habits, like 'chattering' at birds through the window or fetching toys?: When Phoebe is lounging in the sun it is fun to watch her… it’s like she is living the life and can’t get enough.

What is the most adorable thing about your cat?: Phoebe likes to hop up on us when we are sitting or laying down and “knead” our stomachs. It’s something she’s always done and it hasn’t slowed down even as she’s gotten older.

Additional notes about your cat’s health history:: Phoebe lost a tooth this year. She has some degree of dental disease but it doesn’t slow her down w eating.

What criteria are important to you when considering an adoptive family or home for your pet?: Phoebe lives here along with her adult son Moe. They have lived together since he was born 12 years ago. They are good companions. It’d be optimal if they could be adopted out together, but it’s not mandatory.

Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?: Phoebe is a sweet, affectionate cat. She loves hanging out w people. She is light as a feather, but seems to be healthy.

Why are you rehoming your pet (primary reason)?: Cost of Pet Care

Details about rehoming reason (if needed): My husband and I are retired and on a fixed income. Phoebe is on a special diet for digestive issues. She used to vomit with eating. Her special diet helps a lot, but it is pricey. Also, we would like to travel. Our kids and grandkids are mostly across country. When we travel we need to hire a pet sitter for 2x/day care. This is also expensive. Between the cost of food, occasional vet visits and pet sitting the overall cost has become prohibitive.

How long will you be able to keep your pet before you may need to consider surrendering him or her to a rescue?: Not an option, my pet will stay with me for as long as it takes

What do you feed your pet, and does he/she have any feeding quirks or preferences?: Hills Prescription Diet “Digestive Care i/d” canned food (primarily) and dry food (1/2 cup/day). Chicken flavored. Both our cats eat from puzzle bowls to slow their eating.
