My dad agreed to foster her because the man that was fostering her previously lived in an apartment, and that wasn't good for her either.

Is there a daily routine that works well for your dog (feeding, walking, sleep)?: she goes out to the bathroom between 6-7, then she eats, then a walk combined with some play, then she hangs out with breaks for tug of war and going in and out.

Has your dog ever shown any challenging behaviors, such as biting a person or another pet? If so, please share some context.: She was the only dog in the household she was raised in so she has not benefitted from intentional socialization with other dogs - but that's on the humans, not her. Not aware of biting any people or other pets. However, I think that whoever will be her forever caretaker should be cautious and slow when trying to introduce her.

How often does your dog require grooming (e.g., bathing, brushing, trimming)? : She needs to be brushed a little bit everyday - and definitely at LEAST once a week.

Does your dog have a dental care routine (e.g., brushing, chews, professional cleanings)?: She does not have a current routine in her foster home, but her teeth are in good condition.

How is your dog with children?: Best in an adult home for now: Has not been around children, or finds them overwhelming.

How is your dog with other dogs?: Best as the only dog: Has reacted to other dogs and should live in a home without them.

How is your dog with cats?: Not sure: Haven't had enough interaction to determine.

What's the most endearing thing about your dog?: She really wants to be with her people - she is so observant, she quickly learns her people's habits. If you lay with her in her bed or you let her snuggle with you, she will bury her long snout by your leg, or she'll turn on her back and want belly rubs. She is truly so, so sweet and so loyal. She just needs the person that wants to give her time - running, playing. She will be a perfect companion for someone that will dedicate time.

What criteria are important to you when considering an adoptive family or home for your pet?: Helpful if they have experience with German Shepards - they need to have experience with a large, high energy dog and be committed to giving her the activity level she needs to be mentally and physically healthy. They also need to be willing to pay for her flea and tick prevention, and keep her shots up to date. As a large dog, she does have a healthy appetite. Basically - she is not a dog that someone can leave at home by herself indoors or outdoors for 8 hours. It's too hot to do that in Texas and she needs to be able to go to the bathroom every couple of hours. She would be good for a remote/work from home worker or someone with that kind of flexibility.

Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?: Be patient with her. She's been moved around a lot, and she gets attached. So when she first goes to her new home, she will likely be anxious, looking for Ed and worried. That's normal. Give her a routine, lots of hugs and rubs, treats, and she'll settle down in a couple of weeks.

Details about rehoming reason (if needed): My father loves German Shepards and had large dogs his entire life. But at 80 and with limited mobility, he has fallen a couple of times since she came - not because of anything Luna did - his balance is not very good. He knows she deserves a loving home with someone that wants an exercise & snuggle buddy.
