We took Duke from a family member whom could no longer care for him. When we took him, he was under weight and had anxiety issues with going through doors and walking on the leash. Since being with us and his brother and our other dog, he has come a long way. A week after coming to us, Duke got sick and was diagnosed with pancreatitis, I suspect since he wasnt eating much at his old home, the diet change and extra eggs I was giving him was tough on his belly. We put him on a homemade lowfat diet of boiled chicken breast, rice and veggies for months, but we have successfully weaned him to purina one giant breed dog food and he has been tolerating it well with no further episodes. Duke is extremely playful, especially with his fur brothers. He has grown up with children, both in his prior home and this home with both families having 4 children of various ages and is the most gentle and sweet dog. He has never shown any kind of aggression and is good with cats. We would love to find Duke the right forever home where he has space to run and play and preferably another confident fur sibling to enjoy his time with.
