Ziggy is a 7 year, 95 lb, Old English Sheepdog. He is an affectionate, social guy who loves people, children, his toys, and especially swimming.
Daisy is a 3 year old, 48 lb, Old English Sheepdog. Daisy is a sweet, loveable, energetic athlete who has made so much progress with her confidence through the patience, training, and encouragement.
The bond Daisy and Ziggy have is important, particularly in the sense of security Ziggy provides for Daisy. Daisy is the runt of her litter and was dominated harshly by her litter mates. When she was brought home Ziggy played a wonderful gentle nurturing papa bear. Daisy and Ziggy came from the same breeder and share a mother.

Sit, down, pillow (go to bed), back (to walk behind), stay, wait, this way, and they are off leash trained, Daisy runs next to the bike and stays behind the bike on the right, They both walk right next to you on the leash with only small corrections to come back to heal with a small snap of the leash.
How does your dog react to being left alone for short periods?:
They do great. Daisy opens cupboards if left too long and we have cabinet locks on low shelves with food. She will take food on the counter only when left alone but never when someone is home. Ziggy is a perfect angel.
Are there any specific triggers that cause your dog anxiety or stress?:
Ziggy howls when sirens go off. We have flood warning sirens that go off once a month. Otherwise nothing phases Zig. Daisy gets stressed when small children chase her. She has never bitten but she tucks her tail and tries to avoid them. Daisy gets very excited when her favorite people come over and she sometimes will excited dribble pee. We usually let her out the front door to greet people. The dogs are not runners. If they get out of the yard for some reason I find them on the doorstep.
Is there a daily routine that works well for your dog (feeding, walking, sleep)?:
6 am and 5 pm feeding. Midafternoon or evening running or walking. Daisy needs to run. They like to go in and out of the house so a dog door is preferable. They are not crated.

Ziggy is a big dog and if he runs or hikes up hills for more than 3 miles he will be achy the next day. He takes supplements daily and it helps. Ziggy has a sensitive stomach so both dogs are on science diet sensitive stomach, salmon. Ziggy has chicken protein allergy. Ziggy has had yeast infections in his ears so his ears need to be dried well after swimming and baths. Daisy has no medical conditions.

They get baths as needed at the groomer. I shave them 4 times a year to keep them short in the hot months. Daisy’s fur will dread if not brushed weekly and especially if she gets long and wet. She is kept short to avoid this.
