Sharkie is a 5 yo boxer.
Sharkie, is a delightfully friendly, gentle, yet strong, neutered 5 year old, boxer/ bulldog mix. He is crate and potty trained. He’s very chill and prefers to be next to his human. He knows a few tricks like sit and shake. I have him sit about 20 feet from the door and tell him to stay so he doesn’t dart outside. He’s such a good boy, he sits and waits. He doesn’t bark unless he wants inside. He will counter surf but will also sit away from the kitchen at a safe distance if he’s told to do so. He loves watching the world from the glass door and being outside.
I think Sharkie would be a delightful addition to a very chill home. Not a lot of noise and commotion. He enjoys quiet time. He loves laying on the floor together getting tummy rubs and hearing what a sweet, brave, and handsome boy he is. He just might shed a tear (seriously)! He does very well with female dogs but guards with another male dog in the home. He is non reactive to male dogs at first, but I would be cautious. Probably best to avoid a male in the home altogether. I would also advise against an elderly couple as main caretakers as he is so strong. I do not know how he is with cats.
It appears he does have slight allergies (itching) either environmental or food related. I’m not sure. We began him on a diet of home cooked turkey, veggies and quinoa in the morning supplemented by lamb, pumpkin and rice kibble in the afternoon. Hopefully his itching will completely dissipate. I’m just not sure what his diet looked like during his multiple abandonments.
He does well on a leash and enjoys a leisurely walk. He likes squeaky toys and balls.
This boy has been let down by so many humans. I think time will tell how his sweet personality unfolds when he actually feels safe and can let his guard down. I am in love with him and would love the chance to get updates on my new little best furry friend.
I sent him to Castle Rock to an adopter and they dumped him
