Is there a daily routine that works well for your dog (feeding, walking, sleep)?: As soon as we wake up in the morning she gets fed then let outside. During the day she plays with the other dog in the house, or with her toys. She gets let out in the yard whenever she asks to go. At night she's fed a second time and then sleeps in bed with us.

Does your pet have any history of health issues or medical conditions that potential adopters should be aware of?: Yes. She is urinary incontinent secondary to getting spayed which is on Proin twice a day for for the rest of her life. There have been no break-through urinary accidents since starting the medication. She is also on Purina Hydrolyzed Vegetarian diet due to food allergies to all animal proteins. She gets plant-based dog treats, peanut butter, cheese, or veggies as treats.

Additional notes about your dog’s health history:: The chronic ear infections were directly related to her food allergies. Once she was put on the right diet, the infections stopped.

Has your dog ever shown any challenging behaviors, such as biting a person or another pet? If so, please share some context.: Yes. She has gone after the other dog in the home on random occasions. There is not one particular trigger, it just happened at random times. She has also bit a child when they approached her during meal time.

How often does your dog require grooming (e.g., bathing, brushing, trimming)? : As a short-haired dog, very rarely. I bathe her maybe twice a year.

What's the most endearing thing about your dog?: She just wants to be on top of you, being pet and loved on. She's the best cuddle but ever. She wants a companion to spend her days with that will keep her active, play with her, go on long walks, and give her all the love she deserves.

What criteria are important to you when considering an adoptive family or home for your pet?: The family must be committed to her overall health and well-being. I have put in a ton of work with her and her veterinarian over that time to ensure that she is as healthy as she could possibly be. She must be on her daily medication and the appropriate diet for the rest of her life. And the family must understand that this dog cannot be around children. The family must understand that her environment, medication, and diet are non-negotiables.

Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?: This was not an easy decision to come to at all. Isla has been a part of our family for almost 3 years. Even though we have our issues, this is her safe space. Finding a new family, moving to a new home, is going to be a huge adjustment for her. Please give her some grace and allow her mushy personality to blossom because once it does you are going to fall in love with her.
