I'm looking for a new home for my kitty, Tommy. I'm 75 years old and unfortunately have to face the fact that I won't be able to take care of him much longer. He's a very friendly 7-year-old silver tabby, who snuggles up to everybody he meets. I live in a seniors facility and I've had him since around November 2023, when a resident here was not able to take care of him anymore. (She was using a walker and he kept “escaping.”) Since my two 16-year-old kitties had just died of kidney disease, I was thrilled to adopt him.
"He does have FIV and asthma, for which I treat him with prednisolone. It is very easy to administer, since he knows that he will immediately get treats. I have a technique where I say "Ready ready ready open open," he opens his mouth, and I squirt in the medication. Then I tell him "Good boy!" and give him his Greenies and Temptations. Easy peasy. :) I'll be happy to give lessons on how to do it!
"He is very loving but my health is not good. I live in a 290-sq-ft room in a seniors facility; he has no room to run around in and I have become too tired to play with him. He is, however, always on my lap or next to me. I love Tommy very much but I feel very badly that he is so confined. By the way, I have had cats as pets for over 40 years and take very good care of them.

I live in a seniors facility. One of the residents had Tommy but could no longer take care of him and was going to take him to the pound. My two 16-year-old kitties had just died and I said "I'll take him!" I was thrilled, to say the least.

Does your pet have any history of health issues or medical conditions that potential adopters should be aware of?:
Tommy has FIV, which causes asthma, for which I give him prednisone (the generic) twice per day, easily administered because he knows that I'll give him treats afterward! I also feed him wet and dry food for urinary care, which prevent crystals from forming in his urine.
