Loving whippet boxer mix
We adopted Peanut when she was two. She has been in the family for 8 years now, and she is such a dear part of our family. Although she is 10 years old, she is extremely playful and could have many years left in her if we can find the right situation for her. She is one of the most loving and affectionate dogs ever. She will never leave your side and would cuddle with you all day if she could. She is house broke and knows basic commands, but she also loves to run in fenced in backyards (chase squirrels), and bask in the sun. She has no health issues but has begun to develop a cataract which can cause her pain from time to time. We have a basic gel we apply to her eye, and she takes a baby aspirin and it seems to help her well. We are heartbroken to need to rehome her, but we need to make sure our kids are safe and that is the priority. She does not do well with other dogs or any animals. She has snapped at dogs who have tried to greet her and especially when they run into her bad side/cataract eye. We are very nervous if one of our children were to do that and what the result may be. We just can’t risk it, and need to find a stress free home for her with no young children or other animals. A backyard would be great but isn’t necessary. She loves walks (but dog parks or trails with lots of other dogs may not be very pleasant walks for you).
She really is the best dog, but just needs a place all to herself. If someone would be willing, we would be so thankful and would love for you to meet her!! You will fall in love with her right away.
