Shadow

Shadow is a barn cat that wants to be a house cat! She was dropped off at our property 1 1/2 years ago. It took us 6 months to be able to pet her. Now she loves me, loves my husband, loves our sometimes pet caretaker, and is willing to approach strangers as long as we are near by. I can pick her up, she loves being petted and brushed, and is a terrific mouser! BUT we have an indoor/outdoor cat named Lucy that we have had for 10 plus years. They hate each other. Lucy is terrified of Shadow and because she is Shadow is aggressive towards her. Shadow is not aggressive with another stray that sometimes hangs around our property. So she may be fine with other cats. Not sure. Lucy is NOT happy being an indoor cat and I want to give back to her the happy life she once had here. The key to being successful with Shadow is to keep her in a secure area until she knows and loves her new owner, then she could be let out. She has been confined a couple times and does use a litter box. She is has a playful, kittenish personality and follows me everywhere, climbs in my lap and purrs like a freight train
