Luna

luna is the perfect balance between aloof and affectionate. when she does want attention she is sweet as can be, but she definitely likes her independence. she loves exploring so she needs a very roomy and open house. i would love for the new owner to have plenty of windowsills for her to sit and look out at and they should have enough time to play with her. the life she lives now is very boring because i am a mega introvert so she needs someone who is calm but also stimulating and can mirror some of her excited behavior back to her.

i've been the only person she's really gotten close to in over a year, so it will take some time for her to warm up to you but if you give her space, don't smother her, and give her reasons to believe you are safe, eventually she will trust you too. she's very smart as most cats are. honestly, she's your average tabby cat. she's around 4 years old. she just needs someone to give her love and attention and really be all in on providing her a beautiful life. she's a cuddler and will sit in your lap or sometimes on the back of your legs if your laying on your stomach, but of course only on her time.

What criteria are important to you when considering an adoptive family or home for your pet?: luna needs a home with lots of room to roam and explore. it's important to me that her new owner can love her unconditionally and be very patient with her as she adjusts to new people. she needs an owner who has consistent behavior and understands cats on a deep level. luna should be the only animal in the house. she gets scared around other animals very easily.
Is there anything else you'd like your pet's new family to know?: be careful with open doors. when she was younger, my family and i allowed her to go outside because she would always return. it has been a year since then and she's been an indoor cat ever since, but after she is comfortable in her new home she may attempt to dart out the door.
Why are you rehoming your pet (primary reason)?: Housing is Inadequate for Pet
Details about rehoming reason (if needed): i'm rehoming her mainly because the place where i live at has too many other cats and dogs so luna stays cooped up in my room. she gets insanely bored. cats are hunters at heart and they need stimulation. 4 years old is young. i feel like i'm robbing her of her childhood lol. i want her to be able to play freely and have different rooms to explore and lots of windows to watch nature from. she needs space to do her own thing. i spend a lot of time focused on my work and even though i give her attention every now and then, it hasn't been enough for her to feel satisfied and she ends up scratching stuff, knocking things over, and keeping me up at night in order to get my attention.
If applicable, do you have the legal right or necessary permission from the breeder or rescue organization to rehome this pet? :
Not Applicable
Yes
How long will you be able to keep your pet before you may need to consider surrendering him or her to a rescue?: Two weeks
Who is your veterinarian?: Jessica Webb D.V.M
What do you feed your pet, and does he/she have any feeding quirks or preferences?: she likes both dry and wet food. if it's cheap dry food, she won't eat it until she's starving. i would get her a good quality brand of each and rotate them so she doesn't get bored. she gets interested in human food but usually will only eat it if its plain chicken or fish.
